Crickets

I’ve been away, I see by my calendar, for about a week!  Yikes!

My days have been dedicated to typing a novel.  In the last seven days, I have typed well over thirty thousand words. What was originally supposed to be a quick little “tech-update” for a decade-old romance novel turned into a major project, involving a lot of head-work, research (truly!), and of course typing!  My keyboard would be smoking if it were comprised of flammable materials. :-)

I have enjoyed the work! I have! It just left me little room for other pursuits, such as continuing my series of The End of the Age.  When I mentioned my efforts to the young ladies (fourth and fifth graders) I was teaching in Sunday School last week, they immediately thought that the first thing to suffer in my housekeeping was the laundry.  I laughed.  No, I have managed to keep all the household hampers empty, the closets and drawers full, and to provide meals for my guys every day.  The dishes have been done and I’ve even built a tunnel for my little guy’s train set.  Sawed wood, used a hammer and nails and everything.

I just haven’t been able to write anything else except Summer’s Music!

However, I am now down to just wordsmithing and tweaking prior to publication.  God willing, I’ll be back in my saddle, doing my job here, shortly.

I wanted to send a quick, public thank you to my family and my Facebook community for their forbearance as I rushed to make deadline.  Everyone has been extremely patient with me.

Happy Wednesday!
