Comes a Horseman

Posted by: Sandi    in End of the Age

What if they’re right?  Those who saw the future in the signs of the sky?  The serious star-gazers, seeking the will of the Almighty by studying the lights he gave us above?

“Oh, Sandi, you know it takes forever for the light from the stars to reach Earth. Don’t be silly.”  Or perhaps, “Careful, Sandi, you’re bordering on heresy/blasphemy/idolatry!”

I don’t think so. Jesus himself said:

There will be violent earthquakes, and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights and great signs from heaven. - Luke 21:11

So, you see, that HE has sanctioned the understanding of terrifying sights and great signs from heaven.  It is not apart from his teaching to seek signs, there.  And, of course, the God who made the heavens and the earth knows exactly how long light takes to reach our sadly limited human eyes and human instrumentation.  Did you think perhaps that this was not so?  That he did not plan it to be just that way?

Now, there have always been earthquakes, the seismologists tell us. I heard recently that there is no significant increase in earthquake activity in recent years. But, we have had some very powerful quakes in the last few years.  And, with advent of our informational systems, more people know of them in a more immediate way.

Famines are mentioned, too.  Plagues generally follow the path of poor nutrition.  These are all exampled in the history of mankind.

But in these, the last years (as I believe them to be) of life as we know it, due (again) to the startling immediacy of communication possible, all of these events will be very “in your face.” Very prominent. Very affecting.

In their wake will be confusion.  And into confusion will step someone who will seem to have the answer.

Is he living, now? Yes, I believe he is.  Contrary to much rhetoric I have read and heard, though, I do not believe that Barack Obama will be this great leader.  The one Jesus warns his disciples about.

Still, that Abomination that Causes Desolation is out there…somewhere…

He could be the first horseman.

Revelation 6:1Then I saw the Lamb open one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 I looked, and there was a white horse. The horseman on it had a bow; a crown was given to him, and he went out as a victor to conquer.
